Is your nonprofit looking for passionate, engaged individuals to bring new perspectives, skills, and energy to your board?

The Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professionals invites nonprofit organizations to participate in our Board Mixer, an intentional networking event designed to connect local nonprofits with young professionals who are interested in board service and deeper community involvement.

Participating nonprofits will have the opportunity to meet directly with young professionals who are eager to learn more about board service, discover organizations making an impact across Greater Omaha, and find meaningful ways to put their skills and passions to work.

This is your opportunity to share your organization’s mission, impact, board needs, and opportunities for involvement while building relationships with emerging leaders in our community.

Nonprofit Eligibility

To participate in the Board Mixer, your organization must have at least one current opening on its board or a board position that is expected to become available within three months following the event.

This event is specifically designed to create connections that can lead to board placement, so we ask that participating organizations have an active or upcoming opportunity available for interested young professionals.

What to Expect

The Board Mixer is designed to be conversational and connection-focused. Nonprofit representatives will have the opportunity to introduce their organizations, discuss current or upcoming board opportunities, and connect one-on-one with young professionals interested in getting involved.

We encourage participating organizations to come prepared to share information about:

• Your organization’s mission and impact
• Your current or upcoming board opening(s)
• The skills, experience, or perspectives you are seeking
• Board member responsibilities and expectations
• The time commitment and meeting schedule associated with board service

We would also for you to bring an active board member along to the event if possible for the attendees to connect with and hear about their experiences on the board.
