2026 Q4 Foreman Spotlight

At JC Toland, our people are what make us who we are. From the field to the office, every member of our team plays a role in the work we do and the relationships we build along the way.

For our Q4 Foreman Spotlight, we’re recognizing Jay, who has spent the last 15 years with JC Toland and 27 years in the painting industry.

27 Years in the Trade

With nearly three decades of experience under his belt, Jay has seen his fair share of projects. One of his favorite things about painting is the instant gratification that comes with the trade. There’s something rewarding about seeing a project come together and being able to look back at the finished product knowing you played a part in it.

When asked about his biggest strength, Jay kept it simple: keeping his nose to the grindstone.

As a foreman, Jay enjoys being right there in the field, working alongside his crew and helping get the job done. His hands-on approach and years of experience are just a couple of the things that make him a valuable part of the JC Toland team.

It’s the People That Make the Job

After 27 years in the industry, you’d think Jay would have a favorite or particularly memorable project. But when we asked, he couldn’t narrow it down to just one.

For Jay, it’s not necessarily the project itself that makes a job memorable. It’s the people he works with.

That perspective says a lot about the kind of foreman Jay is. While the finished product is always rewarding, the relationships built along the way are just as important.

Getting to Know Jay Outside of Work

Off the jobsite, Jay has plenty of personality, and he describes himself as an open book!

He’s a big fan of bluegrass and blues music, a proud grandpa to two grandkids, and the owner of what might be an excessive number of JC Toland hoodies.

And one opinion he’s particularly firm on? The Grateful Dead is the most overrated band of all time. We’ll let everyone else debate that one!

Celebrating 15 Years with JC Toland

Fifteen years is a milestone worth celebrating, and we’re grateful for the experience, dedication, and hard work Jay has brought to our team throughout those years.

Our foremen play an important role in keeping projects moving, supporting their crews, and maintaining the quality of work our clients expect from JC Toland. Jay is a great example of the people behind the work we do every day.

Thank you for everything you’ve contributed over the last 15 years, Jay. We’re lucky to have you on the team!

Here’s to another 15?
