Invest in Your Growth as a Communications Leader.

Staying ahead of the ever-changing communications landscape while building authentic brands isn't easy. Between managing crises, proving ROI, and keeping up with the latest trends, it's tough to find time for strategic thinking. You need peers who understand the pressure and can help you navigate both the creative and business sides of communications leadership.

Executive Roundtables are monthly, coach-led meetings where senior-level executives connect, share insights and best practices, and tackle real-world challenges in a confidential, non-competitive, peer-based setting.

Key Discussion Areas:

Digital Evolution & Emerging Technologies - The digital landscape changes daily, and keeping up feels impossible sometimes. AI, social commerce, influencer fatigue, privacy regulations - how do you stay ahead without losing your authentic voice? We'll share practical strategies for embracing new technologies while maintaining meaningful connections with your audiences. Let's talk about what's actually working versus what's just hype.

Crisis Communications & Brand Protection - Every organization faces reputation challenges, but how you handle them defines your brand's future. We'll dive deep into real-world crisis situations - the good, the bad, and the lessons learned. Through honest discussions, you'll develop strategies for proactive reputation management and learn how to turn potential setbacks into opportunities for authentic engagement.

Strategic Brand Leadership & ROI - Proving the value of communications work remains one of our biggest challenges. How do you measure brand impact? What metrics actually matter to the C-suite? We'll explore innovative approaches to demonstrating ROI, aligning communications strategy with business objectives, and positioning yourself as a revenue-driving leader rather than just a cost center.

Who Should Join:
Senior-level communications and marketing leaders responsible for shaping strategy within their organizations — including Chief Communications Officers, Chief Marketing Officers, and those serving as the top communications or marketing leader regardless of title or organization size.

Facilitator:

Sara Wilson is the president of Smith Kroeger, a 63-year-old full-service marketing agency based in Omaha with clients across the country. After beginning her career in Washington, D.C. at a leading PR and branding firm, Sara returned to Nebraska and rose through the ranks at Smith Kroeger, eventually being named president in 2024. Today, she works alongside CEO Terry Kroeger, former president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Media Group, to lead a diverse team of strategists, creatives, media specialists, and digital experts serving national brands, regional institutions, and community organizations alike.

Under Sara’s leadership, the agency partners with organizations across industries, including banking, retail, automotive, B2B, healthcare, real estate, education, home services, nonprofit and more. Her marketing approach is grounded in real-world context and solving the right problems. She meets organizations where they are, factoring in business goals, team dynamics, and budget realities, to shape conversations that are practical, collaborative, and genuinely useful.

A frequent judge for national public relations awards programs, Sara has also been featured in publications like Strategic Healthcare Marketing, spoken at conferences including AAF Nebraska’s Meet the Pros, and was named to Midlands Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2020.
