About

No More Empty Pots connects individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency, regional food security and economic resilience of urban and rural communities through advocacy and action. Our neighbors across Omaha are fighting food insecurity, unemployment, financial hardship, or reduced academic opportunity. While hunger-relief organizations act as a necessary first line of defense against food insecurity, No More Empty Pots follows a unique approach by targeting the systemic causes of inequity. We believe food is a catalyst of change, expression of art and culture, and a connector of the human spirit and condition. We are not a food bank. Our services and programs leverage the food system so that people, the planet, and the economy thrive.

Through our workforce and entrepreneurship initiatives, we create clear, supported pathways into the food industry. Our Culinary Certificate Program (CCP) offers hands-on training that builds foundational and advanced culinary skills, industry certifications, and real-world experience that prepare participants for meaningful employment and long-term career growth. By equipping individuals with technical expertise, professionalism, and confidence, CCP helps transform passion for food into sustainable livelihoods.

Beyond training, we invest in the success of emerging food entrepreneurs. Our commercial kitchen rentals provide licensed, affordable, and fully equipped space where small food businesses can safely produce, test, and scale their products without the high overhead costs of owning a facility. This shared-use kitchen model reduces barriers to entry, fosters collaboration, and supports local makers in bringing culturally rich and innovative foods to market.

We further strengthen entrepreneurial success through structured business development programs such as the Kauffman FastTrac curriculum, which guides aspiring and existing entrepreneurs through business planning, financial management, marketing strategy, and operational systems. By pairing practical culinary skills with sound business education and access to infrastructure, No More Empty Pots helps food-based enterprises launch, grow, and contribute to a more vibrant and equitable regional economy.

Together, these programs embody our commitment to moving beyond hunger relief toward long-term solutions—empowering individuals, strengthening families, and building thriving communities through the power of food.

No More Empty Pots' mission is to serve as a conduit connecting individuals and groups to improve self-sufficiency of local urban and rural communities. No More Empty Pots' vision is to support communities in becoming self-sufficient and food secure through collaboration and adhering to our core values of Education: Consumers, Producers and Our Youth; Stewardship: Land Use and Community Resources; and Sustainability: Triple Bottom Line - People, Planet, and Profit.
